The Norfolk Family Walk, organised by West Norfolk based charity Astro Brain Tumour Fund, took place at Holkham Hall
on Sunday, 24th September 2023.
The weather was kind this year and around 160 adults, children and their four-legged friends enjoyed the beautiful Holkham Park, walking their choice of mileage – the ten milers also taking in Wells-next-the-Sea, some enjoying the tradition of fish and chips sitting on the harbour wall! Some walkers were sponsored and many others made generous donations. Lots of participants attend every year, meeting up with friends and family, some remembering loved ones lost to a brain tumour – others are brain tumour patients and their families.
A raffle was also held with great prizes of gift tokens and tickets for local attractions and hospitality establishments. Amount raised from the walk is now nearing £5,000, all funds going to the charity for research into Low Grade Glioma (LGG) brain tumours. All trustees of the charity are volunteers which means that, aside from small admin costs, the money goes to where it is needed most.
The event was generously sponsored by Adrian Flux Insurances once again and the Holkham Estate allowed us to use their facilities free of charge. YLP also advertise our event weekly free of charge in the month leading up to the event. The trustees of the charity would like to thank all those who made it such a successful event once again.
